DZIKRULLAH upon Spiritual Islamic System (SIS) and its Procedures

فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ
.....So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.(QS Al-Baqarah:152)

By doing Dhikr then every kind of problem will become so easy to solve, and every difficulty will be provided with its solution. Inside of human's heart, there is one room which can not be fulfilled except by doing dhikr.

Whenever our heart doing dhikr, then it will not only fulfilling the heart but also it will fulfill all the rest of our body. Life will be peaceful, and full of self-confident. One can feel rich even without treasures, respectful even without supports from public or family.

As contrary, the one whose heart lacks of dhikr, even though he has a lot of treasures and a very strong power, yet still his life actually is dishonourable. Ibn Taimiyah ever said that for a muslim, dhikr is like water to the fish. We can imagine how a fish can survive without water.

What is SIS ?

SIS stands for Shahadah, Istighfar and Sholawah. We abbreviated this as SIS was just to easier to remember.

Does SIS is a one single thing ?

We can never know Allah without knowing ourselves first. That is the reason why SIS is very important, because SIS will bring our life to be in harmony with guidance and Allah will. The one who has know himself must be careful in taking care his own faith, perfecting his morals continuously and whispering a lot of istighfar to ask for forgiveness upon his guilts as natural tendency of a human being. Then he also whispering Sholawah a lot to praise Rasulullah. Because it is impossible to love Allah without loving and following the trail of His prophets and Messengers. So we can conclude that doing dhikr of SIS is one single thing which can not be separated.

What are benefits of doing dhikr of SIS ?

There is no warranty that some one is free from falling into disbelieve and polytheists in every day life. Then this SIS package is an instrument to prove the truth of Allah swt words. So, if we doing this dhikr of SIS sincerely, then as promised of Allah in His scripture, Allah will devote goodness upon His servants during their life in this world and also in life after, receiving His guidance in every moments, and also will be free from any misfortunes and any physical and spiritual diseases, and also many other goodnesses as an Allah authority to prove His Greatness. For the sake of doing dhikr of SIS, one has already taken a significant step to maintain his faith, and taking care his purity. And the most important thing is this one has already reformed his faith!

What is Shahadah Statement ?

Shahadah statement is a faith testimony which states the truth of Allah and His Messenger existence and also states that Laa ilaha illallah & Muhammad Rasulullah (thoyibah words) "there is no god except Allah". Whenever someone believe on the truth of that thoyibah words and express it truly, also accepting all of its consequences from his vow to Allah the Creator, then he will start the statement by saying Asyhadu. Hence the previous thoyibah words become a faith testimony. “Asyhadu allaa-ilaaha il-lawlaah wa-asyhadu anna Muhammad-rasuulullah”. The is two sentences which must be stated as a starting point for a man to become a muslim. So, then since that time a muslim will only admit for having one God, and depending all of his issue and his problem on his life and his living in this world and also in the life after, only to Allah swt. (see "The essence of Shahadah!, Comprehensive Review of Shahadah")

Why we must dhikr of SIS ?

Shahadah is the first pillar of faith. It is the main teachings of faith and messages from all prophets. In Tauhid teachings, it does not require heredity as a foundation of some one's faith. Like in the case on non-muslim family, then there is case whose the offspring become muslim. So, it means we can conclude that as offspring of a muslim family, it will not automatically make us as a muslim, because it is also happened that the offspring of muslim family is non-muslim.

Such as in the other pillar of Islam, which can determine void or not some one's worship, so as Shahadah (faith). Faith of some one can be fluctuate, it can fall down or even diminish. It can make some one become polytheists or apostate. Following are sample of things which can make some one become apostate: unhappy to be dictated by Allah decision, or associating Allah with occupation, sacred thing or talisman, or having bad assumption on Allah, allied with jinn, etc.

Those are things which can void some one's Shahadah. Based on this fact, then guru of Tauhid agreed to strongly suggest for a tazdidul-iman or faith reforming continuously every time. Putting Shahadah as dhikr, is an effort to maintain human's faith. So, it can be concluded as something which is compulsory obliged.

Does it enough with thoyibah words ?

Saying thoyibah words in most cases such as la-ilaaha il-lawlaah-- was written in surah Ibrahim at verse 24-26. This sentence stated about acknowledgement (itiraf) that there is no god except Allah. Only Allah the creator, master of universe. Itiraf with purifying the existence of God (tasbih), is done by every creatures on earth and whole universe, such as trees, animals, mountains and also jinns (some portion of them are believers and the rest are disbelievers).

Then in order to harmonize the universe, Allah devoted Islam as religion for human being. That is why this faith statement is only purposed for human, which is different with other creatures, human will be asked for their responsibility during their live in the world. So, to become a believer, human is not only required to itiraf, but also must express their statement as a procedure to declare that some one is muslim. To declare upon his believed truth (Isyhaadu Biannaa muslimuun) is part of validation process of Shahadah.

Hadits of Aisah ra explained that the meaning of verse 24-26 of surah Ibrahim was a testimony, "when the dead being questioned, then one of the question will be: what is your testimonial? then as a believer he will answer with Asyhadu allaa ilaahaa il-laulah-wa-asyahadu-anna Muhammad Rasuulullah". (Maulana Muhammad Zakariya : fadhailul amal page 425). So powerful is tauhid influencing believer's life, then the testimonial words was mentioned on the following verse as gaulus-tsaabit (affirmation expression, which can establish faith).

Why we must dhikr of Istighfar ?

There is none in this world who is free from mistakes either intentionally or unintentionally. Either it caused by ourselves or caused by some one else. Although Rasulullah as a ma'som, the one who granted as free from mistakes, he always doing dhikr of Istighfar for at east 70 times every day. So based on this fact, then doing Istighfar or repentance is something compusary obliged.

Why we must dhikr of Sholawah ?

Sholawah is intended to praise and as love to Rasulullah and the prophets. Because it is impossible Allah will love some one without having Syafaah from Rasulullah saw. "Allah and His angles are doing sholawah for the prophet," as written in surah al-Ahzab at verse 56. Invocation from a servant can not reach Allah without doing sholawah to Rasulullah. So based on this, then we can conclude that Sholawah is a compulsory obliged.

Procedur of doing Dhikr:

  • Initiated with wudhu prayer and taubah prayer
  • Each time after finishing obligatory prayer (prayer dhikr),(because the best dhikr after prayer is afdhalu dzikri fa’lam annahu :asyhadu anlaa-ilaaha-ilawlaah wasyhadu...) replicate the dhikr for Syahadah 100x, Istighfar 100x and Sholawah 100x.
  • This dhikr if we intended as protection of any temptation and test during the our life in this world, we recommend to do it in the night time during Qiyamul Lail parayer. We also recommend to do istikharah prayer, ta'atal hazat and tahadzud.
  • Then end this worship with prayer. more importantly prayer of requesting forgiveness from Allah and also His pleased (ibtighaa mardhaatillaah).
