Becoming the Servant of Allah

The basic mistake in doing the religion which had been done by most of the moslem people is that most of us were doing the religion in one way direction only. Not interactive and none confirmation nor validation from Allah swt for which we had done and understood.

Then such mistake was propagated and brought us towards next mistakes in doing the religion, such as in defining our relationship with Allah swt.

In the context of the relationship with Allah swt, some of moslem people claimed that they are caliphet of Allah swt on earth. This was based on their own understanding or based on their ustadz confirmation. Hence with considering their own self as caliphet, they walk on earth with full of proud and arrogant, claiming their own self as having right to control and judge the other people.

Whereas in reality Allah swt was never appointing them as caliphet on earth. While it is only Allah swt who has right to appoint someone as caliphet on earth, not based on someone’s opinion or understanding against their own self.

“It is He who has made you successors upon the earth. And whoever disbelieves - upon him will be [the consequence of] his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them except in loss.” (QS 35:39)

However, because of the kufr which is covering the heart of most moslem people today, so they thought that they are caliphet. Whereas Allah swt in reality was never appointing them as caliphet, like what Allah swt did upon the prophet David as to become a caliphet before.

The other mistake of some of the moslem people in defining their position against Allah swt was they thought that they are merchants, becoming traders. They thought that every deeds they had done were in order to create a commerce transaction between them and Allah swt. They thought that everything they have done will be bought by Allah swt with heaven in the next after life.

Whereas every kind of transaction must be consisted of demand and supply, without both of those two components then there will be no transaction can be occurred. Allah swt in fact, will ask demand only to a certain people at certain time, so then why many moslem people today thought that they received this demand from Allah swt?

“O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? [It is that] you believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you should know.” (QS 61:10-11)

That verse above is a specific demand request intended for specific believer people in the era of Rasulullah saw before. Not intended for every one in every era and at every conditions and circumstances.

The result of assuming that they got request demand from Allah swt, then someone now is willing to sacrifice himself to become a suicide bomber, to become a terrorist in order to sell himself for heaven from Allah swt. Eventhough that Allah swt was never asked for a demand or transaction to those people, so why do they thought that they must sell themselves and their life?

Without demand request, then doing supply solely will not be able to create any transaction. Then in the after life they will be included into the misguided people and misfortune, because apparently that the expected transaction is never happened, and the transaction was actually not intended for them.

As our guru and their disciples, the best position against Allah swt is to become a servant. A servant of Allah swt who has nothing, fully depend on Allah swt. This is similar with the position of every Syuhada, every Wali and even every prophet and messenger of Allah, they positoned themselves against Allah swt as His servant. Not as a caliphet nor a merchant nor a trader.

Even for a man like Ahmad bin Abdullah, his position against Allah swt is only merely a servant. Please notice this below verse of the Qoran.

“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (QS 17:1)

Most of the moslem people today they are very seldom to be humble in front of Allah swt. Doing Syahadah with saying ‘I’. Even though all of Syuhada, Wali, prophet and messenger of Allah they all being humble in front of Allah swt, all of them are being themselves as servant, not a merchant nor a caliphet.

Why do most of the moslem people today are reluctant to position themselves as servants? They walk on earth proudly and full of arrogant and do not want to be humble? They behave as highness people and the perfect ones against the others? Doesn’t this kind of reluctancy to be humble as a servant and being arrogant is closer to the bahaviour of iblees? (AK/ST)
