Doing Dhikr for the Sake of Nation’s Interest
Doing wird or mostly known by the people as doing dhikr, oftenly it was done in the purpose of the sake of their own self. Most of the moslem people’s motivation in doing dhikr was for collecting rewards, getting more fortunes or having their wish and purpose answered.
Not many people think or having intention to do dhikr for the sake of the others, and even for the sake of the nation’s interests which consists of a variety of many religions and ethnics. In fact, within the Qoran Allah swt and His messenger taught us to think not only for our own self, but also for the others, our family, our community and our nation.
There is no instruction from Allah swt to think and to prioritize only for our own self, that was what our guru taught to his disciples.
Moreover, during this critical moments like now, when we found that there are so many people in our society they insulted each other, critisize and strike each other. The social crack and split in the society are easily ignited by a particular cause.
So, that was why then our guru suggested us that during this critial moments we ought to do dhikr and wird as many as possible to Allah swt. Asking for help to save this nation from being splitted and torn into chaos. Then, our guru asked us to do dhikr with the following pray:
“O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account." (QS 3:26-27)
So that is it, maybe it would seem weird and unusual. There are a group of people doing wird and dhikr altogether for several hours in the middle of the night for the sake of the nation’s interests. Not for the purpose of their own selves. In fact, that was what really had been done by Rasulullah saw and his disciples before. Why does this habit and sunnah are being abandoned by many of moslem people today? (AK/ST)
