Longing of Allah swt

Allah swt is an ultimate supernatural being, who is ultimately hidden and can not be seen by the eyes. Hence, to be able to have a feeling of longing to Allah swt, the ultimate supernatural being, we must know Him first.

During the recitation session, ustadz Syahrul explained that someone will not be able to have a longing sense to meet Allah swt without first knowing Him. Hence, to know Allah swt become a must for the ones who has great expectation to meet Allah swt.

Then, in order to maintain the feeling of longing to Allah swt, we are obliged to do amal sholeh all the time in order to put ourselves close to Allah swt, with doing dhikr in remembering Allah swt as many as possible. And for sure, we also have to avoid ourselves from any things which are hated by Allah swt, such as associating Allah swt with others.

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا
وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا
“Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." (QS 18:110)

Without a great efforts in order to know Allah swt, doing amal sholeh to put ourselves close to Allah swt and doing dhikr in remembering Him, then it would be impossible for someone to have a feeling of longing to Allah swt. A feeling of longing to meet Him. (AK/SY)
